Position: Theatre Arts Director – Rivera High School
Salary/Terms: Board Adopted Professional Hiring Salary Schedule for 187 Days
Job Setting: High School
Reports To: Campus Principal
Effective Date: 2017-2018 School Year
Prerequisites:

Prefer Masters in Theatre Arts Education or Professional Experience equivalent

Enrollment in an Alternative Certification Program for Texas or equivalent

Knowledge of State and UIL policies governing theatre arts education and the Handbook for One-Act Play; http://www.uiltexas.org/theatre/high-school-one-act

Ability to implement policies and procedures.
Preferred: Minor in Theatre/Speech or English Language Arts/Dance/Vocal equivalency
Responsibilities: Brownsville Rivera Theatre Arts Director
Calendar year begins with BISD Forensics Tournaments in September; Musical Auditions-beginning of October. Emphasis on One Act Play and Fine Arts Musical- traditionally opening in January (80+ cast and crew experience).
Support for the two feeder schools - Middle School One Act Play (Oct. & Nov).
Accountability for the theater auditorium-including the scheduling & usage of other fine arts disciplines.
Previously, the department set standards in musical theatre and has the full support of the principal.
Building the 90+ program is the vantage.
